The Recovery Visa is a short-term visa that permits New Zealand employers to sponsor migrants to come to the country to work on emergency purposes. There is always a special requirement for professionals that include insurance assessors, engineers and technicians, heavy machinery operators and debris removal specialists.
The visa is meant exclusively for migrant workers who come to New Zealand for a short time of a maximum of six months to perform their jobs in the North Island recovery. Employers planning to recruit migrant workers for long-term roles are supposed to apply for an Accredited Employer Work Visa.
