People whose talents are needed by New Zealand employers, people with exceptional talent in the field of art, culture, or sport, people working in areas of identified absolute occupational shortage in New Zealand, and religious workers are all eligible for residence class visas under the Residence from Work Category.
Holders Of Talent (Accredited Employers) Work Visa
If you held a work visa in this category for at least 24 months, you may be granted a resident visa. However, you must have worked full-time in New Zealand for an accredited employer with a base salary of NZD 79,560 per year during the currency of this visa. At the time of your application for a resident visa, you should also have full or provisional registration to practice your occupation in New Zealand (if applicable).
Holders Of Talent (Arts, Culture & Sports) Visa
If you held a work visa in this category for at least 24 months, you may be granted a resident visa. However, you must have been actively engaged in their declared field of art, culture, or sport during the currency of this visa. You should also be prominent in that field of art, culture, or sport, with evidence that your continuing presence in New Zealand will improve the level of New Zealand's accomplishments and involvement in that field. You must be in New Zealand at the time your application for a resident visa is submitted.
Holders Of Long Term Skill Shortage Work Visa
You may be granted a resident visa if you have held a work visa under this category for at least 24 months and have employment with a minimum base salary of NZD 45,000 per year (excluding employment-related allowances). The employment, on the other hand, would have to be computed based on 40 hours of work per week and should have been in an occupation that was on the Long Term Skill Shortage List. If full or provisional registration is required to practice in the occupation, you must also have full or provisional registration. You must be in New Zealand at the time your application for a resident visa is submitted.
