Big News For Offshore International Students!!

New Zealand Government is all set to welcome a group of
1000 international students back to the country to complete their studies!

The nomination has begun. Has your education provider nominated you for your entry in New Zealand again?

Check with your education provider to see if you meet the requirements and are eligible to return to the country. However, this is only for the students who are offshore and studying online and not for the ones who recently started their qualification online.

To be eligible, you must:

  • hold or have held a student visa offshore to study in New Zealand in 2020
  • be studying a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification; and
  • have studied in New Zealand in 2019 or 2020 and intended to resume study in New Zealand in 2020 but were unable to do so because of the border closure
  • be intending to study the same programme at the same institution that you were studying previously.
  • provide evidence to show you have access to NZ$ 20,000/- annually for living cost; and
  • provide evidence you have sufficient to pay for managed quarantine.

One thing to be noted is, the nomination is no guarantee to your entry as approval from Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is the final deciding factor. Now, if you are meeting the requirements, Goodluck!

Also, since the times are challenging and we all are in it together, returning to the country will come with some set of precautions and protocols that everyone is bound to adhere to. Yes, the process will be different than what it has always been keeping in mind the Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) requirements and a pre-travel procedure.
