There has been a noticeable shortage of skilled nurses in New Zealand. Special areas like the emergency department, mental health, and addiction always require experienced nursing professionals. For maintaining the quality and tackling the shortage of nurses, the NZ Government has added several registered nursing roles to Tier 1 of the Green List.
Nurses who are currently registered with an overseas regulatory authority must get their documents verified with the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. Internationally qualified nurses need to complete online courses to obtain certification to practice in the country.
