What is a Recovery Visa? Is it a Specific Purpose Work Visa?

The New Zealand Government in response to the hitting of the Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle had launched the recovery visa. It is a specific type of work visa that is meant exclusively for migrant workers. The visa is short-term and permits employers in Auckland to sponsor migrants who are planning to come here for emergency purposes.

To apply for this special type of visa, it is mandatory for the employers to confirm that the role for which hiring is being done supports relief efforts. The fee associated with the visa is nearly NZD 700. Still, there are chances of getting a refund of this amount post being successful.
